As a small consultant
with a wide range of experience in water and wastewater, we can also offer
the following services:
Hazard and
Operability (HAZOP) Studies
This crucial stage in the design process
assesses the risks of process failure or malfunction, or dangers to
operation and maintenance staff, at a time when the design can be
corrected at minimal cost.
Dr Biddle is a trained HAZOP Chairman, able to facilitate studies and
provide comprehensive reports.
Potentially Explosive Atmosphere (PEA)
Assessments
The Dangerous Substances and Explosive Atmosphere Regulations 2002
(DSEAR) and the Explosive Atmospheres Directive 99/92/EC (ATEX 137)
required a PEA Assessment (or "Explosion Protection Document") to be in
place for all sites by July 2006. Many companies do not yet comply, but
what would the HSE conclude in the event of an incident?? We have the expertise to undertake
DSEAR zoning assessments for water and industrial effluent plants. We can
also recommend
CompEx 9 & 10 trained inspectors to certify new and existing equipment
in Ex zoned areas.

Process Troubleshooting / Contractual
Disputes
Problems can arise at water and effluent treatment works for a wide
variety of reasons. We can investigate problems, develop a report
highlighting recommendations and undertake any additional training
necessary.
As an independent company, our conclusions are
impartial and we can act as an Expert Witness.
Water and Waste Minimisation
Most industrial processes have been optimised to achieve the most
efficient production methods, but have you considered the costs of water
supply and the disposal of waste arisings?
